review » God's Buried Children Daniel Farcas â 3 review Nism Revolution There are other stories tangled in the novel an adopted child a child reunited with his father and a child killing his father and grandfather who abandon hi. This author shared a chapter of his book on facebook I initially chided him for the grammar and spelling errors He politely explained that he was from Romania and that he only learned English 5 years ago He then sent me a free copy of his book to read I found his story a compelling one of life of forgotten and abused children in a Romanian orphanage The mood of the book is very brooding and events are explained as only someone who knows first hand of the brutal treatment of children living in an orphanage and later in the sewer system under the city streets could tell The characters are vivid and you root for them to escape their world of despairHe has taken my advice in editing the material however this shouldn t over shadow the horrific story of survival of a country s lost and forgotten children He may have been overzealous in promoting his book but that is the deep

Daniel Farcas father was a chauffeur for the American Embassy during the Communist reign before 1989 His mother was Romanian His father left Romania before he was born leaving his mother to raise him alone When she died no one wanted him so he was sent to an orphanage in BucharestGod s Buried Children is Daniel s journal account of life in the orphanage and of life on the streets living in the sewers of Bucharest as a homeless teenager The descriptions of the daily happenings in the orphanage were so brutal it is unimaginable to think that the orphanage caregivers were put in place to care for the well being of children We are told of the basement punishment where if you fell asleep in the dark you ran the risk of the rats eating your fingers and toes Daily rapings were not uncommon It was safer to run away and live on the street than stay in the orphanageLife i

review » God's Buried Children Daniel Farcas â 3 review St regime Daniel becomes a homeless child on Bucharest streets and in the city underground sewers after he runs away from the orphanage and lives through the 1989 Anticommu. I found this autobiographical novel fascinating I ve always wondered what became of those Romanian orphans I somehow thought that with the fall of Ceaucescu they would all have been properly helped and supported end of story I found this story of a Romanian orphan who found his way to America moving tragic and well written It s clear that the author s first language isn t English but there s a poetry in the writing that comes out through the slightly broken English Autobiography crosses over into fiction at some points where the author is describing things that happened to friends where he wasn t personally present I think this just adds to the imaginative impact of this book I applaud Daniel for writing it and opening my eyes to what s still going on in this part of Eastern Europe Plus if you buy the book the proceeds go to immigrant kids which to me is a big plus

Free God's Buried Children ebook book ↠ inspireconsulting.co.za Where to start with this one It is a tough read due to the material not because of the style Harsh uncompromising and unafraid to hit you with the raw facts of what these children deal with in their short and often miserable lives It has the ring of truth in every chapter though I have not investigated just how much reality was invested in this work Partly this was my own cowardice and partly because I didn't want to get too mu
